Q: What is this / what do you do?
A: Most people who purchased homes (condos or houses) in recent years are paying too much for property taxes based on current California tax assessments. California is offering an opportunity to reduce your property taxes as relief for the recent depreciatioin of home values. Our service handles the appraisal, all the paperwork, and filing for you to take full advantage of this opportunity and reduce your property taxes. Virtually all we need from you is your name and address and we take care of the rest.
Q: How much will I save?
A: Every property is different. Home values have dropped as much as 20-40% or more. Typically you would save at least $1,000 for every $100,000 in depreciation. Many of our clients will save at least $1,000 or more this year alone.
Q: How much does this service cost?
A: Regulary $199. Currently we are offering a $129 special. This is a flat fee with no additional charges. No percentage fees. We guarantee that you will save at least that much the first year alone or your money back.

Q: I own several properties, can you help me with all of them?
A: Definitely. Second homes, investment properties - we do all residential real estate. Currently we service San Diego County, and will be expanding shortly.
Q: How long do I have?
A: To reduce this year's property taxes, everything must be filed with the appropriate government agencies by May 31, 2009. Orders must be received by SDTaxSavers by April 30, 2009, to ensure adequate time to appraise, process, and file all paperwork. SDTaxSavers will continue to accept orders between May 2 and May 23, 2009, but such orders will incur a Late Fee of $50.
Q: What about my current property tax bill?
A: Keep paying your stated tax rate, the county will notify you when a reduction has occured.
Q: When can I expect to see my reduction?
A: Property information is reviewed by the county assessor and notices are sent directly to homeowners starting mid-July. You should receive a mailed statement from them by July 31. Final property tax bills will be mailed by the county in September, 2009 for the upcoming 2009/2010 tax year. That bill will reflect reductions adopted by the county assessor.
Please note! The assessors office may get backlogged and your new assessment could be delayed. In that case the September tax bill would not show a new rate, but you would receive a refund when they 'catch up'. This adds to the urgency of starting the process as soon as possible.
Q: Will the tax rate stay low indefinately?
A: When property values begin to recover in the county, the assessor's office may choose to modify the appraised value on your home. When it reaches the previous assessed value it will then be limited to a 2% increase per year (per Proposition 13). It makes sense to keep the assessed value as low as possible now as this will save you money for as many years as possible.
